Discount Tire, NTB and some other tire scammers are not willing to put spacers in my car by saying its "dangerous" lol.
How did you guys got it done with a non-franchise tire mounting place? If so, what should I be cautioned about?
Any suggestions.
Thanks

This is what I would do, go to Tirerack and find out their authorized installers in the area and use them.
I know Tirerack sells spacers and they should be able to do it. I don't think spacers are "dangerous" as if it was Porsche would not sell them OEM spacers for their cars, nor would BMW.
I find more and more people of the world are joining the scammer catagory day by day.

My Ride: 2004 BMW 530i - no mods. Pretty basic really. I mean it has tires, windows, and a sweet look, what more could a man want? Honestly, I'd like to improve the sound system mildly, and possibly find a worthy engine mod that would increase my BHP by 100 without giving an arm and a leg for. I don't think it's out there, so I'll stay stock and love driving my 530i.
I dunno... Generally wheel spacers can be dangerous when used on large trucks, Jeeps, etc.. I can see why they don't install them. Why don't you just put them on yourself? I'm sure there's a write up somewhere, besides if you can change a tire your should be able to install a spacer.

Just called Tirerack, they dont sell spacers! They asked me to call NTB.
hMMM. they must have stopped. a few friends of mine bought them for their Porsche 911 (997).
But that aside, you could have just asked for their preferred network/shops in ur area and called them to see if they would do it.
My thoughts were in line with they are pretty good and they would only affliate themselves with someone who is reputable.
So once you have the shops name & number - you can call to see if they will do it. If all fails, any speedshop in the area will do it and for probably less.
Just my 2 cent.s

Be sure to apply anti-seize compound on both sides of spacers to prevent future disassembly problem(just ask VT).
Also use proper size bolts(depending on spacer thickness). Good luck.

+1 Yeah just do them yourself, as some members said if you can change a tire you can add a spacer The spacers you bought should have also came with longer bolts, and all you need to do is buy some anti-sieze at the auto parts store and your set.
