My dealer is pushing Nitrogen (replacing the air in your tires with it) hard. How many of you have switched? Why is the dealer pushing Nitrogen? Thanks.

i always use nitrogen, the only thing is nitrogen doesnt expand like air does when it gets to a certain temperature so its more accurate when checked with a tire gauge. It just makes it so that your tires are always right on the dot with air pressure

is there a difference in performance?
due to their stability.
planes and F1 use them, the main advantage is that your tyre pressure doesn't change

This may be a dumb question, but how do they get the air out of a tire completely to replace it with nitrogen. Do they just let the air out of the tire until the car is sitting on the rims and refill it, or do they evacuate the tire with some kind of vaccum?

It's funny because the air we breathe (and that in our tires) is 78% nitrogen anyway...the rest is mainly oxygen. I can't see why it would make much difference with the tires.
