I have a 2004 525i and I am ready for a 20inch wheel upgrade. Do I have sensors in my wheels that need to be swaped into my new wheels? I have the FTM tire management system. Thanks for the input. Sorry if this question might have been asked a few times.

No you do not have sensors in your wheels. The FTM system measures rotation speed of the wheels to determine any changes. If there is a change, it triggers an alarm. It does not tell you which wheel is low, just that one of your tire pressures have changed.

You should have no problem with the FTM system with larger wheels, just remember to initialize if after you install the wheels. You may have some trouble with tire rub though. Do a search on the forum see what problems other members have had. It may be that if you don't have the sport suspension the tires won't rub. If you do have the sport suspension, or you lower your car with new springs, you may have occassional tire rub unless you roll the fenders. Again, there has been a lot of discussion on these topics. Do a search and you will find a wealth of info.

Good Luck.
