guys, i think cwoarmy posted the part number in the previous post. here you go again: 51456951034 . i asked the part mgr again and he couldn't find it for me. he'll call bmw next monday or tuesday and get back to me. but not sure why cwoarmy only paid 58 euro/$71.56 but the part mgr quoted me $140 . will let you guys know the part number of poplar wood w/o nav when i get the call from him. oh, he also wasn't sure about the cubby hole. after installed the wood trim, is the hole still there or covered by the wood panel ?
Yes to the cubby hole question. Anthracite trim here.
Heres the link to my futile attempt at information gathering at RF (an increasingly less useful site in many respects by the way) !!!

That dude at Crevier is clueless. Where is he coming up with "thousands?"
Even with his online parts link, there are only a few listings for that part. Unfortunately, the online database isn't new enough to show the wood parts, only the colored plastic ones...

After reading three pages of the trim fiasco, I really hate to think one of these days, I'll have to return to the states and put up with what you guys are going through. I can't explain the price I paid or the labor charge except to say, its a German car and I'm in Germany. I too will get the BMW (bring your wallet) in due time.

Hi guys,
You now bother with this wood piece. AFAIK its a two-piece part, one is still plastic.
Don't you think that BMW could make it two-piece wood next year like it is on 6-series and more appropriate. Then we will have to change it again? Honestly it is sometimes difficult to find logic with our interior designers.
Yeah, shoulda known better. I think the last unspoiled vestage of RF is the detailing forum. The E60 forum is mostly a sham, and now Crevier parts forum is heading to the lowest common denominator.
I'm convinced we'll get the part info correct here. CWO may have the part number I need, but the Crevier guy wouldn't confirm or deny. Sheesh.
