All I can say is.... WOW.

What a difference. It's like a new car.

So smooth riding, and the steering feels better.

I can't believe BMW would insult their vehicles with anything less than Michelin. It should be illegal for anyone else to make tires.

That is all....

I have to say that before getting the E60 and reading this site I would never have considered PS2s as performance rubber for any of my BMWs. But I've now read so many positive comments about them, I have no choice but to try some out when the brrrr cold goes away.

subterFUSE, what shoes did you have on before that now make the PS2s seem so great?

PS2's rock! Best summer tires I've ever used... by comparison, when I switched to my Blizzak's in early December, it made me feel like someone attached 400 lbs. of lead weights to my car. I can't wait for the Spring to arrive!

How do the PS2s compare to the PS A/S tires? Does anyone have any direct experience?

Doc,

Yes. Big difference. No comparison.

My advice: if you have the $, spring for separate summer and winter tires. In reality, it's not that much more $ since you reduce the wear on both sets of tires. It's just more $ up front. I also recommend putting your winter tires on some cheapo wheels if you can afford to do so. Otherwise try and purchase your treads at a shop that will do free tire swaps and balancing.

This is all presuming you live in an area with freezing temps at least part of the year.

Also, if you are lazy (like me), you may want to go with run flats in the winter. Why? Have you ever changed a tire in sub-zero temps? I have. It sucks.

Most drivers in Europe probably laugh at us yanks with our "all season" tires. Tires are always a trade off - performance, safety, wet/dry traction, traction period... etc. If you purchase a BMW in Germany (and you live there), my understanding is that if you buy in the winter then your car comes with winter tires. If you buy your car in the summer, it comes with summer tires. What seems odd to us yanks is common sense to our German brethren. I just wish BMW would do the same in the U.S., instead of dumbing down the brand to match the slow but steady dumbing down of the average driver in the U.S.

Ok... I'll get off the soap box now....

Forgot to mention... I had PS A/S tires on my E39 540, so yes I do have direct experience with both PS A/S and PS2 Sport!

When I switched to the PS2s, the car felt much quicker. Though that difference would have been felt with any none runflat, not just the michelins.

I have PS2s for my summer wheels too. I'm going with the majority of positive comments concerning those tires. I had all seasons during last summer and I was not happy with the poor performance. Hopefully the PS2s will be much better since they are quite expensive.

My previous tires were the OEM Dunlop Runflats.

The real point here is that Michelin is so far above the competition, there really isn't anything to compare them to. When it comes to tires, there's Michelin.... and there's everyone else.

Anything else is like buying generic "Cola" at the grocery store.
