So has anyone "greyed out" their tails? I imagine it would be horrendously expensive but it looks SO good in this picture...
Basically what I'm thinking is clear lens, grey background, and red lights...so when the brakes are applied the lights are still red...
but when the car is moving (no brakes) it looks like this....
opinions?

Where'd the pic come from? Is someone selling them? Or already do the mod?

It looks somewhat nice like that, but the problem would be when the car is off, all clear would look cheesy ala the altezza comment.

Those are not altezzas, they are LCI tails.

why not just tint the tails, but skip over the led lights?

Wouldn't be the same effect. With the pic, there appears to be a clear lens, as opposed to the red tinted lens that we all have. Therefore, the 5 tubes really stand out, without having to shine red through the red lens. The back is gray, so the only thing that shows red is the tubes. Really makes it stand out. If you tinted the lower portion, you'd just have red tubes muddled through a red lens and now smoke colored tint.
