From the picture they don't look like full circles. They look like parenthesis. They may get away with it.

Every second car in Mumbai has imitation angel eyes... looks very crappy IMO but funny nonetheless. ![Big Grin](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/biggrin.gif)

Is it wrong if I actually think this looks kinda nice for a Civic?

They sure do. The lawyer in me wonders if BMW has any recourse under trademark/trade dress principles. The AEs, to me, are a distinctive BMW feature that the consumer associates with BMW.

I think headlights are the least of BMWs worries in terms of remaining the "front runner"...they better start worrying about high pressure fuel pumps, fuel injectors, turbo lag, rattles, using run flats, wind noise, etc. ![Cool](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/cool.gif)
![Cool](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/cool.gif)
C'mon BMW, make the stupid run flats an option for those who want them or make regular tires an option, whichever way, I'll still go with the regular tires. If you don't give me the option for regular tires + spare you will lose me to Audi, M/B or Lexus. I know, I know, it's only little old me, but if enough of us did this, maybe, just maybe you will listen to us.

I was leaving a friends house the othe rnight, and I thought the vehicle was a BMW X5 behind me, with the hyper-white halo/angel-eyes behind me.
He was in a big hurry, obviously, and when I turned onto the service road, he turned inside me, and floored it, and shot past me like a jet...
It was a white Chevy Trailblazer SS...
I guess there are numerous aftermarket manufacturers offering the halo/angel eye lights.
Actually, some of the sickest headlight set-ups I've ever seen (this side of an Infinity Q45) were aftermarket lamps for the F-150... When you have a lense that size, you can go crazy- in a good way...
I've been noticing that. On at least three occasions here lately, particularly on left turns or steep high speed left curves. It was so pronounced, I?ve checked my windows thinking one of them was down- but it wasn't... Small issue, but still not something I ever noticed on my $11,000 1991 Chevy Cavalier.
All manufacturers copy each other to some extent, either in design, content, or both... The first vehicles I ever saw with TPMS, Rainsense ? wipers, Homelink ? garage door openers, OnStar ?, turn signals on/in the mirrors, not to mention widely used V-8?s etc. were all American vehicles, and all more than a decade ago. Now you see the same version, or something similar, on many different brands. Sooner or later , someone was going to "gank" BMW for the angel eyes. As soon as round headlights came back in style.
Most recently, Ford got in hot water with Honda/Acura for renaming the Lincoln Aviator the MKX. From what I read, Honda thought it was too close to Acura's MDX. But, in that article, if memory serves, Honda and Ford came to some sort of agreement there, and consequently, you see MKX's everywhere. Not sure if Ford got in trouble for the Lincoln "LS" with Lexus, but I know Ford pitched a fit when Toyota was going to call the Tundra the T-150. Not sure whether that went to court or not, but the T-100 never evolved to the T-150- instead it became the Tundra.
Jeep probably lost that battle to GM because the military version of the Hummer (with the same grill) had been out nearly 10 years before civilians started driving the H1 (Not counting Arnold) and probably 20 years before the H2 and H3 came out. So, with that grill being on hummer's that long...

This is why everybody just loves lawyers.

Yes I know how much you love members of the legal profession. Maybe one day I'll prevail upon you to join our ranks.

But seriously, I don't see anything wrong with a company trying to prevent its competitors from stealing the fruits of its labors and its efforts such as its trade dress.
