I was stupid enough to order the standard audio system with 6 speakers on my E61 LCI.
Now after 16000 km its time to do it once and for all right.
This is my (my audio shop) plan:
Keep the main system, so that nothing will be visible.
Install new door panels/speakers from Jehnert watch this:
http://www.jehnert.de/typo3/index.php?id=1...7fae19277581bb4
Each door 2 low end speakers, 1 mid range in original place, and 1 tweeter.
Attach it to an Alpine Imprint processor and add an Alpine Amplifier for more power.
USB/Ipod problem will then be solved too.
Acc. to the shop this will perform way better that the Logic7 system and any BMW sound system.
Later on they can eventually do the rear, but this will be in no way neccessary.
Anyone have experience with products from Jehnert?
After all, this is not a cheap solution (parts only est. ? 2000,-), so I may expect a very good sound.
While I am not a audio nut, other members may have different setups.
Please react.
Thanks,
Eddy.

The jehnert stuff is good quality, I just dont like the postion of the drivers. They are to far back can't get a great sound stage. I had to custom make pods for my doors to hold my 7" midbass. I would not buy the drivers either you could get others for less money that will perform well. If you do that set up you will not need rear fill unplg them. ad a sub and you are good to go. Let me know how that imprint turns out. I still thin you will need a LOC with that unit.
