My Ride: I have an 05 545i. It's a manual with a few options. This is my first BMW but I don't know how I'll ever be able to switch to something else.

You can go one of two ways: forced induction or Naturally Aspirated

NA requires intake changes, exhaust changes (including headers, and cat back exhaust), and if you want to get real technical some new camshafts, stroker kits and other internal changes. And of course an ECU remap.

Forced induction you'll need a turbo or supercharger kit, including a new ECU remap, possibly larger fuel injectors depending on how much boost you give it. And of course an exhaust to match. What goes in, must come out.

Depends on how much money you want to spend. STS turbo kit is still going to be pricey like a supercharger, but for a I6 i would recommend the turbo over a supercharger.

As for the nitrous, do you really want to do that? That stuff really eats up the internals of your engine and it's not a passive performance boost; it only works when you use it. Are you going to be drag racing this thing?

I have 110 wet shot on my 545i and I've been through about 7-8 10lbs bottle and I have no problems. I do have to change my spark plugs A LOT.

JOE C - If I were you go NOS with a 50-75 wet shot and you'll be fine. Just make sure you stock up on spark plugs

I had nitrous in my old acura, and i would run it like there was no tomorrow, i couldnt burn anything in that motor.. Although i do hear what u guys are sayin 525is meant to cruise in, BUT i want some power... STS setup is going to run me 3k for everything, which is alot better than 8k for a supercharger. if i did the nitrous setup, would it be wise to do a ecu remap for extra power< and some bigger injectors?

Wow Trinity, 110shot! That's f'ing crazy

I'm personally hesitant to use it, but if you guys have been running it before with no problems then I say go for it.

You gotta do everything to milk that 2.5 for everything it's got
