You are going to suffer performance if you do not use OEM-unless you upgrade to larger discs with better calipers. Simply using rotors that are not oem and the same size as OEM and non oem pads.
bmw pads do not squeak-you had a bad experience or there was a flw in your disk

Can someone PM prices for a 2004 545i w/ sport package. Need front & rear brakes pads. You can quote me rotors also but not sure I will need them. What is the difference between the OEM and the R1 and other rotors? Build quality? Are they made in China?
Thanks

BMW told me that my pads where known for squeaking because I went to the dealership when I first bought my car last year beause I thought they were almost out and i was still in warranty and they told me its known for squeaking so i just left it.

I completely disagree, my brakes squeak like crazy and the dealer told me it was "normal" too. I can't wait to upgrade to better pads and rotors. If you want to go the next step get the stainless steel brake lines and fresh fluid and I can guarantee you will feel the difference.
+1000 Acute and Trinity are fantastic vendors - use them
