My Ride: 520i M54 Manual, Saphire Black Metallic, Purchased 03/2004
Standard Equipment: Bi-Xenon Adaptive Headlights, PDC, Airbags all Around, Folding Mirrors, Active Steering, Extended Lights Package, Aluminium/Black Interior, Heated Black Dakota Leather Comfort Seats, Folding Rear Seats w/Ski Bag, Logic7Audio, Car Key Memory.
Retrofitted: ///M Tech Aero Kit, ///M Tech Wing Mirrors, ///M5-Forged Wheels, G-Power Quad Exhaust.

i?m usure to change the springs myself (without shocks)
has anyone a DIY with pics?
i heard its needful to buildout the back seat -> ls that right?

My Ride: 2008 Alpine White 550i Sport, Cream Beige Interior, 6-Sp Manual - retired 9/2011
No need to remove the rear seats.... You can access the rear strut towers from the trunk by removing the side trunk liners by popping out some push pins. It helps, though, if you have fold down rear seats.
Check these out...The first one was originally a DIY from KU530 for his xi that I "cleaned up" a bit and put into WORD format. It should apply for the RWD install as well. I took out some of the xi stuff.
The 2nd is a compilation of info I found for the M5 from the M5Board. Don't ask me questions about the install because I don't know how to do it myself. I am just passing on info I found elsewhere re: the procedures. If you do not know how to work with car suspensions, do NOT attempt this yourself. Leave it to the Pros!
