My Ride: 545 modded the F out
![Default](https://5series.net/forums/images/icons/icon1.gif)
Hey folks,
I've been on the edge with this mod for the longest time only because I really hate those cars that blackout the lenses of their taillights (personal opinion, please don't get upset if this is you). Anyways, I love how these look when the LEDS and the car is actually on, but when off, it really bugs me. The contrast of the bright red against the brilliant white is something I really love in the morning. However, I can't deny the fact that the internal blackout modifications done to the tail lights really do highlight and showcase the LEDS once lit. What are your thoughts and opinions? Thanks in advance.
* at night they look killer, but in the morning not so much (to me)![Help](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/help.gif)

I'll post a pic for you tomorrow, but what I did was black out the red part and leave the white part at the top as is, makes a nice contrast effect that I really like. Tomorrow I'm taking a bunch of pics of my car and posting them, so you'll get an idea of what I mean.

Fasho. Thank you. Did you also open the headlights like Boss Cat or just spray the lens? Cuz if it's the latter I know for a fact I wouldn't go that route. Only reason why I want to do this mod is cuz they rods clearly look at least 25% brighter at night since the contrast is so great inside.

Leave it. Never liked the way they look, especially during the day. Makes the car look cheap. Just my $.02.

Blacked out taillights are nasty, and, wait for it....."ghetto". ![Embarrassment](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/ohmy.gif)
Stick with your initial thoughts and keep it stock or do the white top strip like RWC did to benjo's car.

Don't over mod it, man.
With the kind of money you have already spent, don't turn it from classy to trashy. Okay, maybe that was a bit harsh. What I meant was, keep it as an adult car. Focus on your interior first.

^^^this.
It's perfectly OK to have a heavily modified car and get to a point where you say "OK, I'm done. Now I'm just going to enjoy what I have." It's very easy to overdo it to the point where you have an overly modified car. Go pick up a copy of Super Street magazine and you'll see what I'm talking about. Some people don't know when to say when.

With all due respect, I think a giant mod bug bit him hard in the ass while he slept. ![Tongue](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/tongue.gif)
The car looks good, by the way.
