Default My new CCC has an AUX input and CD changer...

My original CCC was programmed just for a CD changer, but this new CCC I bought has an option for an AUX input. How would I be able to use this? Would it be as simple as buying some sort of adapter?

Yes.

Just get the aux cable and install it, and it will be good to go.

Now heres the real question. Could I do an ipod interface as opposed to the aux input?? I dont recall seeing any blank jacks on the back of the CCC that ive got nothing plugged into, unless I overlooked something. Where does the Ipod interface ultimately connect to the system?

The iPod kit goes in place of the CD changer

+1 ... and the iPod interface module ties to the whole system via MOST fiber optic link.

My original setup is cd changer and sat radio. This new CCC is programmed for a cd changer and an aux input. I'm assuming the sat radio is an external unit. How does that connect to the system? I dont care to have satellite radio. Could I use the input the satellite is on for the ipod input, or whatever input the new CCC had setup for the aux input? Or is the only connection that would work with an ipod is being used by the changer?

Each module such as SAT radio, CD Changer and/or iPod interface are connected via MOST fiber optic link. The SAT module located in the trunk (behind the left panel) so if you feel it'll be OK to stick your iPod back there then you can try it that way.

The iPod interface is exclusive use w/ CD Changer so you can only have either one but not both.

Last if you are lucky you can simply plug the iPod interface and it'll just automagically work otherwise you have to get it coded to enable the system knows there's an iPod interface present.

Cool... I'm a sound engineer by trade, so Its natural for me to exhaust such an issue lol....

So seeing that the sat radio, CD changer and iPod interface share the same type of connection, in theory I should be able to trade the SAT radio for the iPod interface. If I'm not able to use both the iPod interface, and the CD changer at the same time, then it would be something software related that would prevent me from doing so, meaning its something I should be able to code?? Has there been a case where someone was able to code their CCC to use both iPod and CD changer?

If not, im just trying to understand why iPod and CD changer is mutually exclusive when hardware wise, it should be able to work.

The short answer is you cannot have both the iPod interface and CD changer because the iPod device emulates the CD changer's position on the MOST bus ring. It is not a dedicated device. Plugging in a changer and iPod interface will simply be interpreted as 2 changers. Not designed for 2 changers so it wouldn't know how to control them. If the changers could be identified as CDC1, CDC2, etc, then maybe. But, alas, its only seen as CDC. We see iPod interface. Your car only sees CDC (which is why a prerequisite of adding the iPod interface is coding for CDC).
