You can get it either way. Painted is just more expensive.
I got my kit painted at the factory. My importer sent my VIN # to BMW, and they matched the paint.

I gave the part number for the PAINTED one to my parts guy at the BMW dealer and he placed an order, but BMW contacted him and said that they will not ship big painted pieces from Germany. They said I could only get the primed one. So my options were to either buy the primed one from a BMW dealer or buy the painted kit from Germany through an eBay seller for $3000 including shipping. Although I had previously seen the painted kit on eBay for $2700 including shipping, I could not find it at that price when I was ready to buy. So I ended up getting the primed one from a BMW dealer. One advantage that the dealer has vs. eBay sellers is that if for some reason the parts were damaged I would not have to deal with shipping things back or dealing with insurance companies. The dealer would just order a new one and get it in one week max and deal with the damaged one themselves.

As I mentioned above, the dealer ordered another kit that is identical to mine and it should be here any day now. Since it is exactly the same as mine it means that it is for cars with PDC. I wanted to mention that so that if anyone is interested in the kit knows that it will be for PDC equiped cars. I have already had one person contact me for the dealer's info. If anyone else is interested PM me and I will send you the info. Even if the first person that contacted me goes ahead and buys the kit they can always order another one and get it in one week IF it is in stock in Germany. It only took 7 or 8 days from the day the order was place to the day it was delivered to the dealer.

Mine is Auburn with Anthracite trim..........that seems to be the only difference.
