So.... i went to home depot to grab some stuff for my house..
and i saw this red bucket for $3.00 and i was like hmmm... that looks like the size of the afe intake filter..
so i bought it...
and small project started.... I initially created top part for original afe intake box ...
but i was like what the hell lets try this...
so i took it off and cut some holes and fit this red bucket onto my afe intake pipe... and this is the result of 10 min of fabricating it.
idont know how it will do but no stalling or dropping RPM below 500 so .. so far it is good...
i am probably going to make better one with direct air from rpi scoop to the intake box and maybe fiber glass it...

I would say, even though your heart is in the right place, that red bucket is going to conduct heat. More, it will also heat up itself and make things worse. Buy some heat shielding and get to work on wrapping that thing up - then you'll have a fighting chance.
Also, you want to get a vented hood for aFe, no doubt about it.
Love that you're not wasting time, though, brothah

Joon, its your car - make it whatever you want!
I'm just saying that for performance, this is a gamble - you may have just as easily made things worse with this "bucket mod"
lol bucket mod ![Laughing](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/laughing.gif)
I don't know about cutting your hood - you'd be messing with the structural rigidity of it and it may end up so that you'll need to replace it. On the other hand, if you buy a CF hood and install it, you'll achieve a few goals at once - AND you'll be able to re-sell it, if you decide to part out the car and get smth else. All you'll need is a place to keep your OEM hood

I like the idea, but I too would think the bucket would actual conduct more heat/keep more hot air from dissipating from the engine bay.
You can cut vents in the OEM hood no problem. There are S2000 guys that make money on the side by venting people's stock hoods. The job they do is phenomenal and the end result is definitely functional without looking too ricer-ish. You don't need a big vent anyways.
Good luck on the project!

This is hilarious! Hahahahaha
Can you imagine taking the car to a mechanic, he opens the hood and sees a big red bucket in your engine bay? I would just die laughing. ahaha
