what are you hoping to gain? I did this retrofit but the CIC on its own isn’t that fancy. Getting an MMI unit with it for having wireless CarPlay was definitely worth it though. You can also get an MMI for CCC though. If you want to do CIC for less money it could end up being a significant amount of work to code it to your vehicle and getting the navigation to work. For more money you can buy from people who will pre code it for you, or get an emulator box to allow the navigation to work. Only reason I did the retrofit was a guy locally was selling his retrofit kit for cheap as he had no idea how to do it.

Im getting some errors with my AC - I have an 06 retrofitted to CIC an controls seem to work but I am getting error codes 9C5F IHKA: Refrigerant pressure sensor and 9C62 INKA: Rear compartment stratification controller
I have tried both the original Pre LCI and LCI AC controller. All functions appear to work but I am not getting cold AC. Not sure if related to CIC retrofit or if a leak somewhere in refrigerant.

Sounds to me like it is unrelated to the CIC retrofit and the timing just coincided. You mention you tried both AC controllers and had the same error so I don't think it's just one of the wiring harnesses not plugged in all the way on the AC unit.

I would try to check connections. that 9c62 error usually means the cable in the console is unplugged
I had similar when I did my retrofit and it ended up being the compressor died.

thanks. Yup was just rear ac plug unconnected. Resolved that and no more errors. Now just trying to address ac. For some reason ac won't take new charge of Freon.
