My Ride: 06' BMW 530xi
I ran straight pipe with a flowmaster on my previous car (Lexus/ automatic ha) took out the resonator and cataylic converter was loud though ... it through on my check engine light since I accidently cut off the o2 sensor so it wouldn't pass inspection but I know people got it passed 
... I don't recommend doing it unless you know someone to pass it for you since they check the bottom of your car during inspection
this is how my car sounded more or less
