I did a muffler delete on my 550i with the addition of high flow cats (stock resonator still in place). I am a big fan of the sound, and drone isn't nearly as much of an issue as I had anticipated. Initially I had planned on this being a cheap interim while I figured something else out, but now I plan on keeping it for a while. Ill find a video and upload

Sound quality is mediocre at best, sounds better in person, but here's one from outside:

Cabin vid, camera being held so super shaky . Didn't really rev past 4k or so IIRC

Any members here done resonator delete on 545?
I did a resonator delete on my 545, put in a magnaflow muffler in the center to get even flow for the quad exhaust and refine the sound. Sounds amazing, especially when you rev the engine, and I've gotten a lot of compliments on it as well.

To Goodkat, was there any noticeable change in engine performance after the delete?

No noticeable lack of power whatsoever. Not saying I didn't lose a few horses, but it's impossible to tell. Another factor that a lot don't consider is how much the stock muffler weighs; you're losing a decent amount by taking it off. With everyone fighting to save 4-10 lb here and there, it's worth mentioning.

Finally got the delete done this afternoon.i did not expect it to be that loud. I don't mind the sound but the droning is what bothered me a lot, almost got me a headache while driving it. The strange part was that it was louder(drone) with the windows up. I'm going to give this a few more days and see if it gets better, if not, the oem muffler will get welded back .

Maybe you can try adding an inline resonator?

I understand that you still have your oem resonators. Adding another one will just help regulate the sound down to a level you are comfortable with. Depending on space and angles, there are several choices of resonators to add. Your exhaust shop should be able to give you options.
