Hi all

Is there anyone here who has tried to mounted electric tow-bar on a E60/61, I am referring to the type that automatically run in and out, when you activate a button in the luggage compartment , any input would be welcome .

Thanks in advance

Hi All

Now the Full electrical Tow-Bar is mounted , hard work thereto it is not a option for a pre LCI , so some altering had to be done on the electrical side , but now it is working as it should , but it is one of the best mods I ever have installed , no more dirty hands when taking the the tow-Bar on and off .

Here some pictures of the final result

I recognize that some people want to pull their golf cart behind their bimmer, but does anyone find the idea of towing something with your car absolutely hilarious? Maybe you could change out the ball for a hand with a middle finger, and then put the activation button where you can reach it when driving. Then, for all the people that hate BMW owners, you could electronically unfold the tow hitch and flip them off.

Hi

Got the Tow-Bar on E-bay for 300.-Euro , ekstra parts needed ( wirering loom, contact , relays , wire etc. ca. 200.- Euro ) , so all in all 500.-Euro , and no coding was needed either.

Its seems no BMW 5 Series drivers tow boats, caravans, or utility trailers! actually when I went on a caravan towing course three of the cars were 5 Series but they all had after market tow bars fitted I guess the BMW fit items are too expensive normally.
