Have just upgraded to style 124 wheels 18 inch all round (no 19 inch possible on touring) fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport 2 tyres.
What a difference!!
I can only agree with all you guys who have changed the runflats. The ride is so much smoother and quieter. All the harshness is gone. Turn in is just as sharp, although I know the 18 inch wheels will help this.
Makes me wish I had done it before but was waiting for the rear tyres to wear out, which they did in 14000 miles.
If you are considering non-runflats...do it. You will not regret it one bit.

I would say yes definitely. You would probably find the ride even more comfortable with 17 inch wheels.
I assume you have a space saver spare tyre?

db545 - did you have to pay for your change??

My 14 day old 535d seems OK - with 135M wheels and Goodyear RFs

AlanM

Yes I paid for the tyres. Car had done 14000 miles and the rears were worn out. These 545s are such fun!!
I had wanted to get 18 inch wheels as I liked the style 124 so waited until the runflats were worn out to change. Mine were Bridgestone Potenzas.
Got a great deal as my tyre shop said Michelin were offering 4 Pilot sport 2 for the price of 3 until the end of the month!!!
The last 2000 miles thge runflats had got noisy but you don't realise it until you change them.
Anyway I am really happy I made the switch.

Our RFT 17" are so noice, and the car are going in for a tire change next week. Can't wait to hear / feel the difference. I'm buying new Michelin tires (245/45R17).

At winter, I have style 116, with RFT wintertires, and i'm not having any noice problems with those...
