What accessories require a software flash? I believe an i-pod kit and snap-in phone cradle do. Does anyone know of anything else that requires a flash of the software?

Snap-in cradles don't (unless you don't have BT already and are getting everything installed?), but I believe Aux input does - the 'old' Ipod/MP3 Player connection method, but I think that depending on your existing Progman version it may only be a small 'Retrofit' coding - Dealer has to check before the install.

The iPod adapter may or may not require a progman update. It is dependent on your progman version and if you have CD changer or not.

If you have a recent progman version WITH CD changer, you probably won't need an update. This works, because the iPod adapter is recognized as a CD changer, so iDrive doesn't know the difference.

Just name a few: Nav retrofit, AUX input adapter, iPod adapter, CD changer if prepared, daytime running light (not flash sw, but just enabling by dealer).
Mod requires Vehicle Order: L7, HUD, Mirrors with functions not currently exist on your car.
Mod requires no flash: interior trunk/boot button, paddle shifter, ACM, back-up cam.
Hope it helps.

Hopefully the new LCI taillights won't require a software flash...
