I sent the picture to Miro and will let you know the outcome. In terms of warranty, yes wheels are warrantied if they are defective but like Gene said, if it's personal wear and tear there's nothing Miro or I can do, but we can try!

A company can't warranty accidental damage. I don't think BMW is going to cover your door dings either. Try some touch-up paint.

Thank you, this was really enlightening. You're missing the point, but I hope nothing ever happens to your ride.

I am not trying to get anything for free since I am simply not used to getting free shit. So far I've paid for everything I've owned in my life myself.
The point is that these wheels are relatively new to the market and if they get chipped or bent easily there is something wrong with the design and the manufacturer should consider changes.
What do you think I'm trying to get? Even if Miro agreed to repair the wheel for free, I'd still have to pay shipping back and forth at the least. Would that be such a great deal? A new wheel would be less than $250 if I'm not mistaken... and it becomes a wash, or pretty much close to one.

Actually if Miro were to replace it they'd cover all shipping costs. Like I said guys I'll see what Miro has to say.

its the equiv of rock chips on a newly painted bumper

and they would probably just pay for you to have it repaired locally or they would ship you a new wheel, who knows really

dont make this anything epic, its not like that. Its just that its clearly not a defect, its just normal wear and tear, so good luck

the wheel it self is fine tho....functionally it is doing it job as promised....cosmetically it WAS fine until after personal use/wear and tear....if the paint faded or bubbled..i could see that being under warranty..but rock chips are different IMO...

GL
+1 i agree.. i hope they do it for you, but its unlikely i would think.. its like wear and tear. if the wheel came to you damaged then i could see them fixing it. it must have been a pretty tough rock, pebbles, whatever it was to go through all the layers though..

Here is Miro's response:

"Definitely a rock chip, if it would be a defective paint usually clear coat start peeling off first before the paint came off plus it spreads out all over the spoke, but in this particular case it seams that a piece of rock got shot from the wrong way and hit the wheels so hard that even chip off the primer base, the paint and the clear coat at once and this never happens on manufacture defective paint.

Sorry but this is not covered by warranty."

Unfortunately, this is what I was afraid Miro would say and I know it's frustrating to see this happen to brand new wheels but there is nothing we can do. Have you contacted any wheel repair shops to see how much it would cost?

Michael,
Thank you, at least you tried. I haven't started searching for a shop yet, I don't know any in my area. Any recommendations? Zip codes 07040 or 07052.
If not, touch-up paint and that's that.
My real concern is that I've only driven on these wheels for 500 or 600 miles and I already have damage. Now, it may be just my luck and maybe I won't ever have any other problems with them. OTOH, it maybe that are more susceptible to such damage and the ownership experience is gonna suck.
Meh, whatever. Thank you again and thanks to everybody who offered valuable opinions.
