Thanks for all the comments. I definitely need to get the tips centered in the cutout but length-wise they don't stick out as far as it looks. The words Remus are right at the edge of the diffuser cutout and look fine to me. The angle of the pics above fools the eye.

i also had the same Remus tips for my old 545i. i had the same problem with the hanging and got told that it wasn't possible to get them any higher.
agree with your review of the sound.. i really liked mine. not loud, not droning. but had enough low rumble to unleash more of a V8 sound.
question for you..
fair enough that you prefer the old E39 M5 to the 550i (although close), but what about the 650i compared to the 550i?
i ask this as i had a go of an M6 the other week, and didn't like it as much as my 5.
