Hey guys...
Well some people know i have 2 12" Alpine type x and I was not satisfy on it .....Sound was distorted and had to crack up bass on the Idrive.
I had Peripheral interface kit...
and i got that junk out and got MTX Re-Q.
Wow... sound is so much cleaner and better both high and low. you dont have to crack up bass from i drive at all. It will give you clean good bass sound.
Every one who is looking for improvement of your aftermarket sub, check out Re-Q.

I originally had earthquake SWS's under both seats and although I enjoyed the sound, the subs only lasted for a month - probably the worst quality sub ever.
I am getting a new system put in next month. Probably go with 1 12 that is directly firing toward the ski-hole, rather then facing towards the rear of the car.

Never heard of that sub. I am surprised to hear the Type X's didnt sound good. Did you have some kind of bass pass through from the trunk to the cab ? I have found that the e60's trunk is well sealed and can trap bass. If you have a ski-hole, that definitely helps.

Did you ever find replacements for the subs under the seat? i've been wanting to change that, but those earthquakes dont seem to last. I dont want to waste trunk space on a sub that i can barely hear when I can get a sub under the two seats. That would be great.
I talked to a local shop and they said their quality was terrible. They are building me a custom stealth box that will line the very back of the trunk and the sub will be firing towards the front of the car. They said this will direct the bass through the ski hole preventing bass trap, and prevent any trunk rattling. They are pretty good with BMW's so I trust them...
Sorry, I know that doesnt answer your question !

i recently added a 15" MTX to my trunk and it sounds clean.... Very nice clear base. It is mounted in a custon ported box, so not to much space is consumed. Very easy to take in and out too.
