Any performance clutch kits for pre-LCI 550i's? It's odd that the kit for pe-LCI is $800 MORE than the LCI and $600 more than the M5... What gives?
And I can't find performance clutch or LSD options. Feel stuck...

Good thread
I hear Dinan is a good place to start looking. Don't know prices too well yet - mine's pretty okay for the time being, thank God - but it would seem extremely odd that the M5 kit is less than a pre-lci non-M clutch.
BTW are you also planning to get a lighter flywheel? I hear its the way to go, if you'll be digging into those pockets for a clutch anyway. I am hoping to do both - performance clutch and flywheel - whenever mine needs replacing. Maybe I was dreaming, but I was really hoping to fit the whole thing under or around a couple of grand - maybe I'm way off?

My '07 550i had its first clutch replaced at 14k and I've been complaning to the dealer since 25k on the second. I've drive ONLY manual tranmissions for 35 years- this was first ever clutch failure. They say it is normal to have the clutch pedal release 1" from the end of its travel (high in other words). I don't believe them and am jus waiting. No slippage ever- even on the first but it just releases terribly high.
I'll keep looking.
