Hi everyone, I am new here. I own a 2009 528i with the LCI Halogen headlights and would like to make my angel eyes turn on as DRL instead of the high beam. I searched the forums and there are two options: coding or modify the wiring with some diodes or relay. I am new to this stuff and rather not screw something up...so curious if anyone can help me out? I am in the bay area (vallejo).

^^^There is another thread discussion on this topic. I don't think cars without Bi-Xenon lights have this feature.

Check your idrive, there should be a setting to enable/disable DRL's. If it still doesn't work then you will have to hack into the wiring.

Anyone know what fields to manipulate to allow AE as DRL? I just need to know what to change.

I just turn the parking lights on with my halogen equipped 09 when I want just the eyes, DRL off. Side markers don't come on but the taillight glass bars do.

Yea, that works but just want to leave it on auto with the angels on as soon as car starts.

I find since they aren't really all that bright the dusk hours or the overcast light times are the moments I want them on. I too wish there was an easy way to have them on all of the time. I don't have a coder, and there seems like no other easy way.
