Hey folks, it's been forever since I last posted on this forum but I'm back!!
I just got my aFe intake kit installed yesterday and my custom magnaflow exhaust installed today. I had Turner Motorsports in Amesbury install my intake kit which they had in stock. Intake cost $399 and I paid $570 for the intake installed which took close to 2 hours. With just the intake, the car has a more noticeable growl (like a mini exhaust) after I hit 3000 rpm. Throttle response seems to be improved and the car seems to have a stronger mid-range, although excitement certainly is a factor.
I got my Magnaflow exhaust installed by Lou's Custom Exhaust (I had been waiting for 6 months for my eisenmann which failed to arrive and could not wait any longer). I highly recommend them to Boston area members. They are a great bunch of guys who know what they are doing and the prices charged are very competitive. I had my rear resonators replaced with a y-pipe and straight pipes with the magnaflow exhaust and the whole project took less than 2 hours and cost me $450, roughly half of what I paid to get my B&B exhaust with straight pipes installed (by the same people too). the magnaflow sounded similar to my B&B. However, I chose not to remove the front resonators as I felt that the B&B in my 545i produced too much resonance inside the car. Hence, the Magnaflow was not as loud as my old B&B but judging by the video clip (link below), you will see that it is still a pretty loud system. Having said that, I would recommend anyone out there who is interested in B&B exhaust to seriously consider Magnaflow.

Oh...don't get me wrong, I love the look of quad exhausts, just didn't want to go through the hassle of cutting holes/installing new rear bumpers and the extra cost associated.
