Anyone know the exact model/size for this car? Also, will it compromise the peace and quiet of normal day-day driving? I love the sound when hitting it, but dont want it when driving at 70mph with kids in back and wife in car. Thoughts?

Corsa, maybe?

Would be nice if Kreisseig made a kit for the 550i.

Here is a thread on quads which includes some info on the magnaflow. I have a magnaflow on my Yukon with resonators to keep the drone down. I would really like to see some install pictures of these:

Here is another link on magnaflow discussions:

I have Hamann, which is nice but expensive. Very quiet on the freeway. I think it sounds nice from the outside, but the car is so quiet that I don't really hear it unless I open the windows. I would not mind something a little louder, but I also don't want the drone on the freeway.

But, I am looking at the quad systems and have not seen the install of what people do with the right side pipe on the magnaflow.

I have a LCI E60 528i M Sport on the way and I'm looking for modifications such as exhaust. I've done quite a bit of research and it appears most if not all Magnaflow exhaust systems are loud all the time. Considering the displacement of your V8 550i, I figure it the exhaust would be really loud with Magnaflow. Have you considered Remus? Many of the forum members that have done the exhaust on their cars state that the Remus is too quiet, but I think that it should fit the bill for you. Quiet most of the time and louder when you floor it. Remus costs more than Magnaflow, but it's less expensive than exhaust systems from BMW tuners like Hamann, ACS, RDSport, etc...

echo that.. if you want quiet when kids are in the car on cruise control, it's remus.

it wakes up and growls when you get on the gas though. It'll make you grin for sure.

I'm still possibly removing a resonator to get it a little louder...
