I have a 545i and was thinking about getting the muffler done. I did the research and found out that some member with magnaflow 14816 have some deep roral sound really sick. But some other member did mention that 14816 won't fit 545i and only 14862 will. I did the research and I think 14816 and 14862 are identical except one with bigger tips. I'm wondering will 14816 fit my car and will I loose any power from it?

thanks a lot

either will fit but would need to be custom welded by a local muffler shop.

Got the 14816 on my 545i. As for power loss, I have no idea. If you want power gains, go with RPI.

I have the magnaflow on my ride, but I'm cutting it off and going with the RPI.
Power loss is not an issue with the magnaflow, however there are power gains with the RPI.
Let me know if you want my old muffler

I got a question. I'm having alot of trouble trying to get my magnaflow setup installed with the shops I've gone to. I bought the 14815, I'm gonna replace the resonator with it, but they say the tips are stainless steel. If I cut the tips off, is it still stainless steel below it? He said it would be hard to weld it.

Try another shop.

from what other members have said with the v8 e60's you are going to have a significant power loss. I have the 14816 on my 530i and love the sound.

I have Magnaflow 14862 2.5" tips... It is the best mod to my car other than sprint booster. No power loss...GREAT SOUND that does not disturb passengers and you gain 3-4 MPG on highway
