Guys - I picked up a set of M6 167 take-off rims and they had only had 80 miles on them with tires /center caps and all ready to go (perfect shape!). I also looked to make sure it had TPMS, or at least the metal valve stems, which it did. Now I took them to swap out the tires, which of course wouldn't fit my 550i and they said there were no TPMS inside?????
Hate to ask it, but could the tire shop have just taken them off and kept them aside? Or is it realistic to think that a) the M6 came with FTM or no TPMS at all? or
that Metal valve stems are used on the car without TPMS? Seems odd to me.
Thanks!

thanks. I actually got lucky and he had another M6 in there that we could compare. Mine were definitely different. It must have been metal valves but no TPMS.
The M6 (convertible) that was in their shop ran over a cynderblock in the middle of the road. He couldn't avoid it so he tried to strattle it. He ripped off his oil pan and drove another mile as the oil drained. He needs a whole new transmission as well. They showed me the underside.....it was unreal. Even the exhaust system was all banged up. They said it was going to be more then $50K to fix, but the Insurance Co would not total it for under $70K. Crazy anyway......thanks for the input.
