Hi all,

just thought i would share with you the latest mod to my 530d e60.

they are 19" m6 style replica alloys, i got them off ebay new for ?600 (pounds) for the full sett inc 235/35/19 tyres, they are gunmetal grey and machined alloy and came with bmw centre caps (not original but very very good quality) and a full set of new bolts delivered anywhere in the uk inclusive.

the listing was on ebay uk for ?599 + 50 delivery so i made them an offer of ?550 delivered and it was accepted.
here is the ebay link to the wheels if anyone is interested in a set

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/19-BMW-M6-STYLE-ALLOY-WHEELS-TYRES-5-6-7-SERIES_W0QQitemZ270353188186QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarParts_Acc_Wheels_tyres_Rims_Car_Wheels_ET?hash=item270353188186&_trksid=p3911.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1683%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318
if the above does not work look in ebay and search for alltyreswheels

i think they have changed the whole look of my car.
ps yes i did take the oportunity whilst changing the wheels over to paint the brake calipers (red brake paint on paint ?10 per tin from halfords uk)

i also bought two different sets of locking wheel nuts to deter anyone from having a go at removing them (also from ebay various prices)

The rims look great.
I checked the link and the ET value is also good for the 5er; "FITMENT - 8X19 5X120 ET17"
Good price, I just hope the quality is up to the job. I've never heard of "Marshal 717 High Performance Tyres" either.

some shaddow line trim around the windows would look great with the combo you have
nice touch with the calipers

I thought the recommend tire size is 245/35 on the 19" for the 5-series Isn't 235/35/19 3-series spec?

not sure about the correct size for 5 series but they look good and have a very low profile and grip well wet and dry on budget tyres so hey ho i am pleased!!

always good to see a before an after -- totally transformed the car

BlaSTiWi -- I think you are right, but these are reps which could be why the sizes are chosen so they also fit on other models?

in reply

the advert says they fit 5 and 7 series so as you say they are chosen to fit the maximum variety of vehicle so the company are not carrying too many different types of rim, i suppose thats how they can do them so cheap.

they have been on now for a few weeks and i have had no problems, they stick to the road well and slide when i want them too!!

Owww don't get me wrong it'll fit no problem, I just thought you guys in the Euro (at least) have tougher law for tire/wheel fitment like for their size if it's not proper you can get in trouble (I think? I'm not sure)...

Based on http://www.realoem.com/bmw/partgrp.do?mode...hg=36&fg=15 listed 245/45/19 as the suggested tire size for the 19" wheel.

Other than that is just the spedo off a bit and the tire sidewall is a bit less on the 235 so will only effect road impact on the ride but nothing is wrong.
