I'm contemplating on putting M6 replica wheels on my 04 530i. What are the cons?

I saw the wheels at finishlinewheels.com they are fairly cheap for the size that I would like for the car.

here is the link: http://www.finishlinewheels.com/specials/1...taggered+19%22/

thanks,
J-Rock

i bought a set of 18" M6 replicas for my 04 525i about two months ago from ModBargains.com. they look very nice but they're not that good, the silver finish is just a paint job, they easily get scrached. If you get them anyways, make sure you get the Hub Rings also or you'll have vibration problems. Also make sure you get the right offset, i think you need to be at 20 or below, mine are 20 offset. good luck.

I have to add that there is no guarantee that you can eliminate vibration problems even with hubcentric rings.

The 4 replica wheels that I have sitting in my garage are a testiment to that.

Try to get the wheels hubcentric from the start. Don't buy 74.1mm inside diameter. Buy 72.56mm which is OEM.
At least you have a fighting chance to avoid vibration.

IMO, wheels are NOT where you want to cut costs. You can get replica parts for almost any part of the e60 but not the wheels.

stay away from replica wheels because they present a range of issues. theres many threads, even recent ones, where many have complained about them and their "non-oem" quality.

Why not save money on the tires--->General Exclaims.
These tires are really awesome. It has been raining here for the last two weeks straight. I have never had better traction on any other car or wheel before.

Risk is the answer ...but if you don't mind, you have to try them yourself.

Yeah, I debated on getting the replicas myself, but you know what...the term "you get what you pay for" and "if the price is to good to be true, it probably is" kept ringing in the back of my head. I have always gone by the rule of buy the best and you will never second guess what you bought. I for the life of me cant understand why I was really considering replicas...when it came down to getting the wheels, I waited for a set of oem's to show up on ebay and bit the bullet.

I am so happy that I did...no problems with vibrations and the finish is beautiful. If I bought those replica's, I would have been second guessing myself the whole time...

Just do it right the first time and buy the oems...I do not think you will regret it.
