Hey Guys,

I noticed something tonight which I don't think was brought up before in terms of this m5 trunk piece. There's apparently 2 different versions for the wider euro plate size and the smaller U.S. plate size. The part number referenced here was "51 13 8 030 419" which was probably the euro version however that doesn't do us U.S. folks much good. Does anyone know the part number for the U.S. version and/or if it's even available at all yet?

I only bicker about this now because I'm planning to do the Aero kit install and if I have the bumpers and all painted the dealer could paint this trunk piece included for me otherwise later on i'd have to pay all over again to paint that one small piece.

I've made a small image to show the difference:

To all

I've checked the ETK again and the only part numbers for the trunk piece are the ones I gave already. As Mark as realised, there seem to be two different types of trunk piece for the different sized number plates!!!

My thoughts are that since the M5 is not due in the US for a while, it's probably likely that the part numbers listed refer to the car in Europe and therefore will have the longer, wider recess for the number plate.

Maybe Rudy can confirm this???

All the Best

I'm being told that the U.S. version is 51.13.8.030.419. The dealer found that in the U.S. ETK so it should be correct. However, that's the same part number posted here before which I thought was the Euro version. Can someone verify the proper number for the Euro version? It should be well known and available by now. Confused

Hi

Here is a BIG Jpg (1280 px wide) (sorry) which is a screenshot of the ETK as I accessed it just now.

The only parts listed for the M5 at the moment are for cars in the ECE Region which is Europe basically. One would have to assume that the part numbers that are listed here and that I gave before are MOST probably for the Euro M5 with wide licence plates. We'll have to see if the US M5 parts list will have a different part number for both painted and unpainted!

Mark, hope that clears it up for you. Sorry, mate!

All the Best

Hobi

Hehe yeah and you're right, dealer wrong. The parts guy didn't notice ECE was selected because he put in US but it defaulted to that. Okay, we can drop this issue for the time being.

Hi Fellows (is this right for a kind of friend? I HOPE so!)

here?s what I?ve heard:

It can be ordered now and the delivery from germany to germany is about 3 Weeks.

I have asked for the part no.

51 13 0 395 188 Lid Euro license plate

I hope, this was the right one - Hobi, would you please be so kind and prrof my number.

So if that?s it, it would be about 285 Euros ready painted in silver-grey met. (my colour).

The screws are included.

I need a moment to think about, maybe I order it after my spring holidays.

So long!
