QUESTION: Can I add the e60 M5 lock that goes next to the e60 trunk latch? If so, it is difficult to install, and about much does the M5 trunk lock cost? And can I get it keyed with my key or does is come with its own key made for the M5 trunk latch?

Thanks in advance members of the e60 forum!!

Just out of curiousity why would you need to open the trunk if the battery dies????

I think that is where the Batt would be located on most if not all E60's, so to change it out you would have to open it.
But you could jump it up front first (jump connection points under the hood) then pop the trunk

I agree the Battery is in the trunk, but your suppose to jump it front the font anyways. so it doesnt really matter if the battery dies.

THANKS 'bigbadbull'!!!

I don't plan of my battery dying, (LOL), but just doing the what ifs, and how I would get to my battery in the trunk if the battery died! (I never had a battery problem on my e60, yet, and I had forgot about the battery terminals under the hood, THANKS for reminding me!!)

NP, also remember that you will possibly also lose the ability to lock your trunk separate from the car ( valet key) with out the new lock , which I don't know if it is feesable ( price wise)
