In the past, the difference in the trunks had to do with better aerodynamics. I'm pretty sure the same applies here.

Hi All

I have just checked with BMW GB about the availability and pricing of the following parts:

25.16.2.282.750 - M5 Illuminated Gear Knob (E60)

51.13.8.030.419 - M5 Trunk Lid Cover Primed and unpainted

51.13.0.395.188 - M5 Trunk Lid Cover PAINTED and finished

All these parts are listed in the latest ETK catalogue but NO PRICES have been setup for them yet. It doesn't look like these prices will be available until nearer the time of the actual M5 launch.

Also, there is no official word if these parts will be restricted purchases (to M5 owners only)

Sorry...

We'll all have to wait a little longer....

All the Best

Hobi

Just talked to a parts guy, and he said was not available also.

He did state however, that they would only be able to get the primed part, not the painted part when they are available.

CCRobert, from your car description I see that you were not able to have the winter kit (heated steering, seats...) installed due to the ventilated seats. I am surprised as I have all these options on mine.

I guess they gave you a car already on the production line.

No, I have my car, but due to the ordering packages in the US , the ventilated seats option, would not allow me to order the Cold Weather package, and could not order the items in the Cold Weather Package individually. No one can explain why one would negate the other, even BMWNA.
