I think you need more than just a door switch you need the door module as well. See http://forums.e60.net/index.php?showtopic=38263

Module / Switch module.........what's the difference. Are we not talking about the same thing here ? Basically it's the part of the driver's door trim panel that houses the window switches and the mirror adjustment switch.......Or have I got it totally wrong ? Is a module some other part ?

Please help !!

Hey Gudge,

Bruce meant that you need the "harness / door computer module" that is inside the door, not the switch panel.


You will need to have the car re-programmed at the dealer for the folding option to be enabled.

Since you are getting the switch with the button on it, once the dealer programs it for you, you should be all set.


And installation is a breeze. You just need a phillips head screwdriver, and some torque screwdrivers. Also you might want to have a friend help you hold the door panel up cause you dont want to unplug your airbag.

That's correct. You will need both the switch trim and the door modules. And of course a reprogram of the car unless you can find a pre-programmed Light module for the door.
