Guys

I am going to be installing some M5 mirrors soon to my December 2004 525d sport, (UK car), and was wondering if it is complicated to hook up the puddle lamps on the mirrors ?

I presume these come on at the same time as the interior lights, but is there any special wiring required that I need to do ? Or will they automatically work once I make all (3) connections.

BTW - my car does not have auto fold or auto tiliting (memory seats) feature...........in case that helps you answer question.

Thanks in advance.

I believe to have the puddle lamps light up, you would need the "premium package" in your car.

If you car currently lights up at with the puddle lamps, once you install the M5 mirrors, you should be all set.

P.S. they should be M$ mirrors since they cost an arm and a leg. hahaha.

Sorry I did not understand your comment. Please rephrase. I do not have the premium package........is that also called the "extended lights package" in the UK.

Thanks.

Sorry for being unclear.

Yes, that is the extended lights package.

Unfortunately, if you dont have it, you might not be able to enable it / retrofit that option on the lamps.

Sorry.

Ok. Thanks that is helpful.......although disappointing !
But there must be someone out there that has got this feature to work without having the lights package. I'd love to hear from you. Thanks.

Try plug-in all 3 plugs on door modules (into appropriate colored sockets) and may it will work

If not, then you may can get power for LEDs, from the lower door lights.

try to also figure out how to enable the Folding option, cause I'm trying to do that with my car too! (I'm from the US)

If anyone does know, other than swapping the window modules, and programming the car (I think the US dealers dont bother, or can't, not sure, my friend is swamped with work and hasnt taken my car in to try).

man I wish we can enable it.

Hi. I have a UK car so I am assuming that by just getting the module with the folding switch, then mine will work.
Not sure I will bother, because it's just as easy to fold with your hands !!

Just out of interest does anybody know the BMW part number for the electric mirror switch module.........presumably for a UK car you only need to change drivers side ?? And no need to re-program ?? Please advise. Thanks.

Secondly, how easy is it to swap this over ?
