I know adding M5 mirrors have been discussed in length, but I could not come across the answer to this.
What is required/needed when adding M5 mirrors to a '04 545 in order to utilize the power fold option?
I thought I had read once that a switch needed to be added but can't find the post.
Is that a difficult process?
Can someone help point me to the correct thread, or just let me know how this function is achieved?
Thanks in advance.

You'll need full functioning mirrors first, and then the switch on your drivers side.
There's a module from Innoparts where we might help us get the folding function. I believe Bruce Miranda is still working on the solution. I'll definitely let everyone know if we achieve it. =)

I've worked out a solution, I'm just not telling people the details just yet until I have a proper one! But in short the BMW switch panel is completely useless in the US because BMW will not program that option in for you. In Europe you could find an after market programmer who will do that for you and then the switch panel is a good thing. But then there are cars like mine that people just wont be able to get programmed because the whole thing is completely different.

Only LCI's in US fold (with premium package), every other one doesn't. Also M5 e60's fold too.
it's just not worth $1100 w.o the fold...

When you have the mirrors on your car, you'll realize that it was worth it.
