M5 mirrors - which ones?
#1
I have a 2010 535i that is currently on a ship. I would like to put some M5 mirrors on it, but I'm a little confused after reading numerous posts.
Does anyone know which version of M5 mirrors I need?
There are apparently mirrors from 05 to 07 and from 07 to 9/08 and then the 9/08 to current.
I would assume that the most recent ones are the ones that I would want, but does anyone know for sure or does anyone know how to find out?

What sort of options will your current mirror have. There is a cheaper alternative i.e. find yourself some post 09/05 mirrors and transplant the internals of your mirrors to the new M5 mirrors. The M5 mirrors in the LCIs have become bigger and less sleeker.

Do you happen to have any pictures of the two or have any pointers to pictures?

I found a picture of the 09 M5 mirrors and unless there is something funny with the picture, they look huge. Was this a change that happened on the 09 version?
I definitely like the older version better. I know I have a diy on my home computer for modifying some older M5 mirrors to a new setup that included a number of wire mods. Is this the best way to go or it better to use the motor and wiring from my current mirrors in an older M5 setup?
