Thumbs down

Hi guys!

I am attending to a car show with my car next sunday, and I need help with the following issues:

-Fitting M5 autofold mirrors
-Fitting M5 Steering wheel with paddles

I've got a 530d sedan, and the mirrors I've already got hasn't got the autofold function or the button to fold them.
I've ordered the "console" in the left door (operating mirrors, folding, choosing wich mirror to adjust), and is hoping this will do it for me.
My contact in Norway told me to fit the M5 steering wheel to my car I need a adapter of some sort or a coil, is this correct?

Please help me! This is very urgent!

-Arild from Norway.

Hey Dizelpawa

From what i understood, you need more than that for the M5 mirrors to have them autofold. I also wanted that but gave up since you have to do a recoding of some sort in the idrive to make it work (electric autofold).

About the M5 steering wheel i think you need an adaptor of some sort. My530i know more about this, but it involves wire cutting and pretty much warranty voidance, that if you want to make the padels work with your steptronic (i assume).

Is it possible to make them fold by pressing the button on the rockerpanel?

I just want to correct the statement that there is absolutely no wire-cutting. It's purely plug-and-play. Not cut-and-play or pray
My kit uses only BMW components even the wrapping tape for wireloom.

I've got told that my car dealer got a kit with a coil or something from USA and the price was about $300. Is this correct? What does the kit consist of? Anyone got mouting instructions so I can prepare myself?
I've sent the mirrors to the paintshop today, and they are going to be finished by monday-tuesday. I want to finish it all in one turn since I have to disconnect the batter.
Suggestions please??

The thing I'm concerned most about is the mirrors.....

Oh sorry man. I thought it was like that. Still saving money for this and the mirrors. Those 2 mods are expensive.
