My Ride: 2004 545i - 6 speed manual (July 04 build), silver-grey/black, sports package std equipment (18", active roll, active steering, adaptive headlights), premium sound, bluetooth enabled, folding rear seat, lumbar, 3m hood/bumper protective film, rear tint, euro reflectors.

Looking for some advice here folks. I like the M5 kit, but I also like the stock look of my 545i.

What I really want is a dual (quad) exhaust from a looks standpoint, as well as the sound that comes with a modified exhaust.

I was at my dealer this last week and picked up the 2006 M5 catalog. The real M5 has dual exhaust.

The M5 kit that can be ordered for a E60 is for a single exhaust.

Is is possible to order the M5 kit with the rear made for a dual exhaust?

Secondly, and not to piss off any e60 M5 upgrades - I am seriously considering the M5 kit. I really like looks of the side running boards, the front is nice and the 166 rims have a nice look - I am going to be a M5 wanna-be by taking my 545 and making it look like an m5?

Go for the MTech Kit. I have it installed on mine and so have many others on this forum. It's not an exact replica of the M5 however. There are other slight differences besides for the single cut out in the rear. The kit is meant to enhance the regular e60 and not to replicate the exact looks of the M5.

I don't believe anyone would consider you an M5-wanna-be for having that kit, or even the M5 rims. But some might if you have the //M badge or even worse, the //M5 badge.

To your other questions. I was told that the M5 rear may become available at the dealers soon but not sure when. Also, there are other alternatives to the M5 rear that would accommodate a quad exhaust. Hamann and Racing Dynamics have them if you're interested.

Thanks for the info - much appreciated. I will check out the MTech kit and with my dealer for ordering the rear.

I have seen the Hamann and it is not bad, but after seeing the M5, I liked it better - just looks more factory.

Definately will not change the badge.

You've probably seen the kit already but here are some pics of my car with the kit. Remember that you can haggle with the dealer on pricing. I believe Crevier BMW in Santa Ana has one of the lowest prices at about $1,280 for the kit. Tell your local dealer that and I'm sure he'll try to match it or at least get close to it.

I agree with both of you. Eurocarfan, those pics look as good as your car does in person. Let me know if you get tired of your rims. Those are the clearest digi pics I've seen. Ro11dice, I'll trade my rims for your camera. Hahaha.. just kidding.

Very nice - looks the same as the factory.

I just need to get the rear made for the dual exhaust.

Thanks for all of the advice.
