you're getting closer and closer to looking like an M5. You sure you dont like M5's?
I like bumpers and mirrors . When the M5 will have Active steering, dynamic drive control (active roll stabilization) and will weight 1600 Kg instead of 1750 maybe I will like the entire car .

I thought it had active steering as standard ? Or is that a euro thing?
For that we get no manual box

Did you have a custom rev limiter set before you went to the dealer ?
Really I can feel the diffence . And I don't like it
About the dealer driving around with your car, maybe that's why the km are not the same? He tried to "reset" them to the actual stand it were when you gave the car and made a small mistake ?
Just making guesses here but I heard some kind of stories in a BMW forum here in Germany and since then I warn them in a friendly way.....

No, I actually meant that they DID drive around with your car, and wanted to set the clock back to the figure you gave them the car with, to cover up the "test drive"

The 545i (and today the 550i) in my country has as standard a package called 'Eccelsa' that had inside many things, like navigation, leather, etc. and the AS was free on request (you have to choose it as an extra but it costed ?00.00) .

Instructions :
"I followed the whole operation and it is easy to cheat the car's computer while installing it. It is enough to start all the codification preinstallation with the old one (of course the car recognise the old cluster as its own) and than just before launching the codification process switch the old with the new one. At this stage as the car already recognise the cluster it will just codify the new one. On the end everything works properly."
Good luck with your M5 cluster!

No, no, they are quite honest, I know they try the car
Glad your cluster works like it should
Just a side-question: at how many rpm's did you have your limiter set to ? 7000?

Well if I didn't have a 530d with pretty much torque myself, I wouldn't say no to a few kilometres (maximum 5-10) with a V8 (with a warm engine, too......)

Theorically the 'remapper' can set it as he wants . Even 8000 rpm, but the engine wouldn't like to go so fast .
I think I will tell him to set it at 7000 rpm, optimizing the remap to go to max 6700 rpm, so I will not use those 300 rpm but the crown will show 7000 .
And this can be an idea for the diesel engines! Dangerous, but maybe doable .

Ok, I understand ;-)
One thing I noticed with the basic setup. Once we had around 5*C below zero, so the crown was showing max rpm 4.000. And I tried only for a very very brief moment (while standing) so see if it goes say at 4.200 and it didn't So it's a variable rpm limiter, not only a moving temperature-rev guide
