somebody decided to run a stop sign last week and slam into my beauty. i was thinking that since i need a new bumper anyways, i might just switch from my mtech front bumper to an 08 M5 front bumper...
will this fit without having to make any modifications????
is there a price difference between the two bumpers
since the car is leased, will bmw take it back???
i would really appreciate some help

My Ride: 2011, X6 Hybrid . Alpine White , every option. 20" Conti' NON runflats,OEM trunk spoiler , LUX V3 AE's , HP Thunder Fogs , custom front bumper reflector delete........
BMW will penalize you if the car is not returned stock , the M5 bumper is slightly wider to compensate for the fenders on the M5 , I think people can make them fit but when the Mtech fits perfectly why bother ............... hope no one was hurt , good luck

Only the front fenders on the M5 are wider not the rears, thus the perfect rear bumper fit............

=====================
Hi '08.550i.sport,
I am sorry to hear about the MVA that you was involved in, I hope everyone is ok. (Be glad if you had to be in a motor vehicle accident, ((MVA)), that you was in a BMW e60 5 series because it not only hi-tech and very cool looking, but as you probably know one of the most safest cars made here on the planet,other than a little US Army Tank!!! (LOL maybe not that stong, but closer than any other car I know of!!!).... I was in a tragic MVA in 1988 in a new 1987 corvette, police report stated by my measuring yaw marks in a subdivision straight away, I was only traveling at 35 MPH and hit a pine tree and flipped, and ended up in a front yard, ... I was badly injured because I had no protection like the BMW e60 has, because I was in a new all fiberglass Corvette.
Sorry for getting a roll going, and the vent, now back to your BMW, By the way I think the M5 front bumper will fit ok, as long as you have the two RT & LT front e60 M5 fenders because the M5 I am told is a little wider, and also those M5 fenders have holes made for M5 Gills that looks M5 cool too, where aftermarket ones do not have that fender hole roll edges like the M5 does! You might want to contact Garry over at BMW Newport and just ask him what's all involved, and also I dont know if you know, you probaly do, but in case you dont BMW Newport has the best prices for us e60 forum members 25% off most BMW OEM parts!! (Be sure to let us know how your BMW turn's out being fixed, personally at this time, I don't know much about a lease penalty for BMW OEM e60 M5 modifications when turning them in, but if no $$$ penalty, I would probably go for the e60 M5 fender gills and the M5 front bumper, although the BMW OEM aero M kit is nice too, and be sure to post pics when you get you BMW fixed!!)
I wish you the best getting your BMW restored to new like condition again!!
Sincerely,
R. Eddie Presley / Atlanta, Georgia area
