Your car is so fantastic, Alex. The M5 bumper and the other M-setup looks really good on your car. Your next mod should be M5 trunk lid finisher..

Andy already suggested it, but I prefer to keep it clean (debadged in may, no M fenders, no trunk lid finisher.. all clean ) .

Does this gap issue happen even on cars that come with m-tech body kit as ordered from the dealer? I have a friend with 550i with m-tech and I never noticed a gap?

Alex has that bit of gap because it is an M5 bumper that is suppose to mate together with the M5 fenders which are slighlty wider. Your friends 550i with m-tec is a different bumper than the m5 one and works with OEM E60 fenders. Thats why there is no gap on his.

Alex,
Your car looks very similar to mine. Is it Monaco Blue A35 Color Code, Gray Interior? Check this out:

Better pics I have at the moment are the following (the car wasn't clean - I was coming back from a long trip around France and Germany) :

Attachment 60058
Attachment 60059

First time I parked on the grass (and how many ugly cars on mountain in the summer compared to winter!)

After many mods, I definitely like how it looks.

The M5 has a different fender (a little larger) and a little different front bumper (bigger holes on sides and bigger grill --> more arrogant look) : if you accept that little gap (invisible from 2-3 metres), you can install it on your E60 without getting M5 fenders.

Orientblau (you can see the different color - Orient it has been discontinued without a reason and replaced by monacoblau), beige interior.

You deserve M5 mirrors and maybe the M5 front too

Ok, got it..so there are two different bumpers. I always thought they were the same. I guess I will have to look at some pics side by side to really see the difference.

Thanks
