Hi Guys,

I have been told that M5 brakes are not really that great but as they will be much better than my std brakes plus they will be OEM I fancy sticking them on when my fronts need replaced.

Anyone bought some and would care to disclose the price for comparison?

Just looking at the calipers. But anyone know any decent disc and pad suppliers too as they seem limited!

About EUR 2500 for front brakes.

They are quite good: on a 545i/550i they are enough even on track, so on the road they are more than sufficient.

seen those too. I bought some last year that I still haven't fitted, purely due to not ordering the extra parts (couple of bolts and disc/pads). I bought mine as a set and basically I will end up with the 4 calipers (discs and pads were knackered) for ?200. I didn't think his price was that bad .. if they are in good condition.

Whether they are any good for me is a no brainer... my 545i brakes are pretty damn good and stop the car more than good enough for my driving which is quite agressively, so the m5 brakes will be better than current.

?200 sounds like a good deal for 4 calipers and more in line with what I expected to pay. I've messaged him and hope I've not broken any rules. I said I had been watching but felt his asking price was too high ooops! If he doesn't sell and relists cheaper then I may bid. May well offend but I did point out that I knew it was cheeky and apoligised but end of day if you don't ask you don't get.

My Ride: 530d M Sport. It has Heads Up Display...need I say more...

I recently purchased a complete set of M5 brakes - front/rear (calipers, carriers, discs (virtually brand new), new set of pads for the front). Just needed new rear pads. Paid ?500 which is a bargain really.

On my 530d, they are soooo much better. Brake pedal feel and bite are night/day compared my stock items.
