Hi guys,

My buddy has a E 60 M5 and wants to get some 20s so he is giving me his M5 19 inch rims and tires, my question is will these fit on my 550 as is without alterations? The stock M5 tires should fit on the 550 right?

Thanks

Nice friend.

M5 front fender flares out more. You will need to replace the front tires and possible the rear (might rub) because of the aggressive offset.

I purchased 245/35/19 and 275/30/19 tires for my wheels. Didn't want to throw off my speedometer.

Well, tires will run $900. If you're getting it free or at a great price then I would go for it. Get rid of those runflats

NO - the stock M5 tires are over 1" larger in diameter than the 550 tires (26.8" vs 25.6"). If you use these tires, they will not fit properly, your speedometer and odometer will read low by about 5%, and you will decrease your final drive ratio about 5%, resulting in poorer acelleration.

You can use the wheels, but you'll need to buy tires that fit the 550.

The rears will fit without any rub issues, but your speedo will be off by 5% (at 73.5mph it will read 70). The fit is actually perfect and they look good. I like the look of a 285 in the back, it really fills out the wheel well.

Do to the aggresive offset of the front rim, you have to stay with a 35 series to avoid rub issues.
