Hello,
Is anybody knows if tire size: front 245/40/19 and rear 275/40/19 installed on M166 wheels will fit without rubbing to E60.
I know that the correct BMW recomended tire sizes are 245/35/19 and 275/30/19 but also I have tried 255/40/19 ( small rubbing) and 285/35/19 no issues.
Thanks

Yes, those should work without rubbing. Member jsal installed 245/40/19 on the front and the standard M5-sized tire (285/35/19) in back.

Show us how they look when you get 'em!

245/35/19 in the front, 275/30/19 in the rear for E60 2004 and up.

275/40 sounds like a really bad idea -- this is over 2 inches taller than the recommended size. I think some people have gotten way with 245/40's in front, but there is another post in last few days of someone rubbing on 245/40 and 275/35's on 166's. I think best combo would be 245/35 and 285/30 (too bad the 285/30's aren't very common).

For PS2's (from Tirerack specs):

245/35/19 = 25.8"
245/40 = 26.7"

275/30 = 25.6"
275/35 = 26.6"
285/30 = 25.8"
275/40 = 27.7"

Check out my bad boys

Tires front (Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 245 35 19)
Tires back (Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 285 30 19)

Go for 285 on the rear... looks awesome and the grip in unreal.
