Guys. will these fit on the Saloon without any issues, specifically:

1. Can I use standard bolts.
2. Any rubbing issues on arches/fenders etc.
3. Will they protrude from the arches, or just fit flush against them (which would be nice!).
4. Can I use standard 245/35/19 tyres
5. Any issues with ride/handling ?

The touring 166's are really 9"? The regular M5 166's are 8.5" rims, and they will fit with the usual 245 F, 275 R tires. The front offset on a 166 is ET12, and rear is ET28. Compared to 172's (ET18 F, ET32 R), the 166's will push the fronts out another 6mm and the rears by only 4mm.

You would still have room for spacers if you wanted. I'd leave the fronts alone since they'll be almost flush, but you could push the rears out another 8mm. They'd probably look fine with no spacers at all.

A 9 inch rim up front would still fit...just need to know the offsets on them if you have them. I can't find them online.

Both front and back are offset of 17 for the touring. I am only considering the 9x19 as fronts, because I know someone who is offering them to me for sale.

I am running the OEM 8,5" 19" m166 wheels on my e60, which i took over from my e61! So here my thoughts:
1) there are NO 9" OEM m166 wheels - that is NON-OEM
2) you have no probs running 8,5" front and rear BUT you should NOT run 275s in the rear, but use 4 tires of the size 245/35/19. Please justify why you want to use 275 in the rear? apart from more wear and no ability to switch front with rear and vice versa, there are no advantages.

4) regarding spacers - i had 10 mm spacers on my rear wheels, till this morning :) 10 mm spacers on 8,5" with ET 12 is equivalent to if you had 9,5" wheels with ET 14. Well I was convinced of this setup till yesterday, when I had 300kg of weight sitting at the back (3 heavy colleagues) and while i was doing a wild turn at about 60kmph, there was some rubbing. So this morning, i replaced the 10mm spacers with 3mm spacers, though I would say I could have gone up to 7mm but i had none lying around.

Hi. I would only run 275/35/19 only with 9.5x19 in the rear. This is OEM set up with 172 wheels for Non M5 cars. 172 wheels are same rim size as M5 wheels.

I prefer the deep dish look of 9.5 in the rear, which is why I prefer M6 offset compared to M5 standard offset for the rear.

I will investigate about 9x19 for front wheels......I have been told it is OEM. Problem is Realoem does not list them.
Maybe one of the M5 Touring members could confirm.

You can get a similar look of the 9,5" with spacers - obviously with less tire but then again this has advantages... if you are looking to keep your rear tires of your 172s then you need to go for the m166 wiht 9,5" et 17 for the rear....

M5 166's are ET12 up front and ET28 in the rear. They may have the same widths as OEM 172's, but they are not truly the same but will still fit a RWD non-M5 with non-M5 sized staggered tires.
