I just received my painted spoiler and was about to install it when I noticed that I lost the instructions. I know it cant be too hard but Im curious about the exact placement of where it should be. Does anyone have a link to instructions or a diagram on how to have this installed exactly where it should be?
Maybe a close up picture of your lip spoiler.
Thanks!
Eddie

One other thing. How must the car sit after putting it on? If its for a long period of time can I just leave it overnight? I've read somewhere that it needs warmer temperatures. It gets down in the 40's over here at night.
Let me know.
Thanks again.

Warmer is better -- I think they recommended 72 degrees F, but I didn't want to wait till Spring so just warmed up the garage a little (on a day in the upper 30's) before installing and then let the car stay inside overnight. It did fine for me.
Here's a tip for you. Trial position the spoiler where you want it before removing the backing. Put masking tape on the trunk parallel to the spoiler on both outer ends and in the middle to mark fore-aft positioning. Then put a piece of tape in the middle of the spoiler and make a line across both this tape and the one on the trunk so you know the spoiler is lined up side to side like you want it. When you take the backing off, start from the middle where your line is and just make sure the spoiler is straight against the three piece of tape across the trunk. This makes it much easier to be sure you are in the correct position both side to side and front to back. If you start from one side and work across, it is much harder to keep it straight and centered.

Another thing -- I put mine basically at the rear edge of the trunk lid. When I was at the Detroit auto show I noticed on an M5 that from the factory it is a little more forward from the edge (maybe 3/8" or so). I actually think it looks better all the way to the rear, but for BMW it may be to make the alignment easier / more repeatable or maybe to prevent any chance of car wash damange that they put it forward a little. So if you want it to be correct this is probably where it should be placed.
