M-Tech OEM Bumper Help
hi all
im in the process of purchasing a OEM M-Tech bumper that came off a 550i to install on my 2007 530i. I've searched the forums and some say it fits no prob and some say it does not fit. im a bit confused and would appreciate any help or advice.
I have the bumper part #: 5111 7896582 12
thank you

Well from my point of view you should be able to transfer any OEM bumper cover between all e60s regardless of years (preLCI vs LCI may be different)...I have heard that the M cover has a different styrofoam spacer though......
I just replaced my OEM M cover and the shop charged 700 plus a few clips for parts and adapters. With paint I was in the 1200 range, so I took the low range insurance claim and moved on.. good luck and watch the curbs.

If replacing a regular stock bumper cover, for a proper fit the styrofoam shock absorbers either need to be shaved with a knife or replaced with the proper one (available at $tealer).
My body shop isn't the patient type to put an hour into shaving, test fitting and shaving some more and even if they were they will charge $110 per hour to play with it. If I was doing my own I would be willing to fiddle with it until it was perfect.
Also, the brake ducts will need to be replaced with the proper ones to fit the M bumper cover (unless you drive gently all of the time, in which case they really aren't necessary).
